My Story
Hello, I’m Natasa Economou.
For the past 15 years, I’ve worked as a physiotherapist within the NHS and private healthcare, serving hospital, clinic and community settings. My purpose has always been helping individuals live better lives, with the belief that physical, mental, and spiritual health are key ingredients to wellbeing.
My journey began with the structured training of the NHS, where I honed my skills in physical rehabilitation and medical intervention. However, over time, I found the western approach to recovery has it’s limits (like everything!) and following my own long-term health challenges, I highlighted gaps in the current healthcare system, which led me to explore more natural, holistic approaches. This search for a deeper understanding of health took me to India, where I studied the ancient practice of Yoga. The integration of Yoga (from the Sanskrit "Yuj," meaning union) transformed my work, allowing me to treat myself and my patients through a multidimensional approach that unifies the physical, the emotional and the energetic connection of our beings.
Healing from the inside out
The word ‘holistic’ comes from the Greek word holos which means 'whole’. This philosophy underpins Holistic Physiotherapy, where care extends beyond the physical symptoms and considers the whole person.
As human beings, we are beautifully complex, and our paths to healing are as individual as we are. What works for one person will be different for another, which is why this approach integrates the best of both worlds - combining the modern western medical expertise in physiotherapy and coaching with the ancient eastern wisdom of yogic philosophy - and they work beautifully together!
Holistic Physiotherapy incorporates:
Physiotherapy prescription: To build strength, mobility, balance and reduce pain. Along with manual therapy if required.
Nutrition and Self-Care Education: Supporting your body’s natural healing processes, through nutritional advice and habitual lifestyle changes.
Yoga practices: Enhancing awareness and building focus through - breathwork (prāṇāyāma), restorative poses (āsana) and meditation (dhyāna). And reducing stress through relaxation (Yoga nidrā).
You will learn to adopt habits that improve your overall quality of life, reconnecting you with your independence and the beautiful world around you.
